The Board of Directors and many supporters of Christ Church Guilford offer our utmost gratitude to Anne Montgomery for 15 years of dedicated service as she steps down from the Board! It is almost impossible to list the number and types of tasks and responsibilities Anne has undertaken over the years. Following the deaths of several previous Board members several years ago, Anne inherited almost everything having to do with Christ Church. In the past five years since the Board was reconstituted and new missions formulated, Anne not only served as Co-President (then Vice President) but also constituted the sole local Building and Grounds Committee. She did everything having to do with our beloved building and the grounds, from working closely with contractors and vendors on the many repairs we have undertaken, to dealing with the insurance company after the September 2023 lightning strike, to managing the vendor payments, to taking beautiful photos, to hiring groundskeepers, to pulling weeds, and to shoveling snow. Anne helped edit our successful grant applications, took meeting minutes, and kept the Board informed of many things we might have otherwise missed. We, and everyone who loves Christ Church, owe her a deep debt of gratitude.
Anne isn’t going anywhere — we will still see her around town and, we hope, at Christ Church events. We wish her and Warren the best as they travel, pursue other endeavors, and otherwise enjoy whatever they consider “retirement.” Thank you, Anne!
